Speaking of discoveries, of course, the first thing that comes to mind is Columbus who discovered America! And this is where the intrigue begins: it is still not clear, who discovered America and what it was that Columbus discovered. But it is not essential for us – most importantly, the history saved a name that is closely related to discovery. Historians still do not know the real biography of Christopher Columbus, as there is so few facts about his life and his expeditions, that his biographers add a lot of invented statements in his life description. Christopher Columbus was born in Corsica between August 26th and October 31st, 1451– therefore, we put his name in August of our calendar. Columbus’s biography has no reliable evidence of his first voyages, though it is known that he endeavoured trade expeditions. What did Columbus discover? Scientists say these were the islands of Dominica, Guadeloupe, the Lesser Antilles, the island of Puerto Rico, the islands of Haiti, the south-eastern and southern coasts of Cuba, the Juventud and Jamaica Islands. Maybe, we will also discover these places?
