We would like to begin March with the anniversary of our best friend, who never leaves us even for an hour! He is everything to us. Telephone is 145 years old this year. No way! My friend cannot be such an old gentleman! And still, it is true: Alexander Bell patented the first telephone in 1876 and called it “talking telegraph.” The Bell’s tube serves to transmit and to receive human speech in turns. Bell’s telephone had no ring, and the call was made through the whistle in the tube. The length of the line did not exceed 500 meters. And now, amazingly, we can chat with the whole world, read the news, play, and do many more with our old friend! What will be in another 145 years?
